About ESC

Energy Strategy Center (ESC), the branch of the “Scientific Research Institute of Energy” CJSC, was established by the decree of the Minister of Energy of RA in 1998 in the framework of TACIS program financed by the European Commission. The experienced experts of ESC support the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia in the following issues: :

• Elaboration of the programs for the development of the strategy and policy, renewable energy potential in the energy sector
• Development of the programs on energy saving and environmental protection
• Assistance to the creation of favourable conditions for foreign investments
• Support to information exchange and promotion of energy technologies.

ESC trained staff skillfully masters the professional computer software packages targeted at:

• Development of assessment and analytical models on energy and electricity demand
• Expansion planning of energy generation systems and analysis of their impacts on the environment
• Assessment methods of power sector development impacts on the environment and human health in case of the probable scenarios for the energy sector development, and etc.

ESC is involved in the implementation of numerous technical assistance programs provided to Armenian energy sector by EU, USA and other international donors.
